Available Positions:

The Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic Is expanding. We have openings for:

1. Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) - Full-time. Utilizes personal lived experience to support the recovery journey of persons seeking recovery from substance use. Connects participants with appropriate resources based on individual self-care plans. Must be in successful and ongoing recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges for at least one year, or have at least one year as a family member supporting a loved one with mental health and/or substance use challenges. Must complete DBHDS 72-hour Peer Recovery Specialist training. Accumulation of 500 hours of experience providing peer support services may be completed on the job. Completion of certification exam required. High school diploma/GED required. Must abide by PRS code of ethics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed. Prior experience desirable, certification preferred.

2. Medical Provider (Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Full-time preferred, part-time negotiable. Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants and Medical Director to deliver routine medical care to scheduled and walk-in patients. Identifies need for and makes appropriate referrals. Manages medications and assists patients in managing their health. Maintains accurate and timely records. Positive patient interaction skills and teamwork are essential. Current Virginia license required. Two years experience desirable. PPE provided.

3. Pharmacist  Full-time.  Serves as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). Responsible for managing the operation of the Clinic Pharmacy and assuring that all Board of Pharmacy requirements are met. Supervises pharmacy technicians and volunteers.  Assists in training volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in NNMFHC Pharmacy procedures.  Dispenses medications for eligible Clinic patients.  Conducts patient counseling as indicated regarding questions or concerns related to prescriptions. Assists in development and review of patient eligibility criteria using standards established by participating pharmaceutical partners/medication providers. Ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of participating pharmaceutical partners that provide medications to the NNFHC Pharmacy. Current Virginia license required.  Two years experience and experience with billing Medicaid desirable.

4. Marketing/Communications Manager Full time.  Assists the CEO in developing and executing the Free Clinic’s marketing strategies, managing public relations activities, fund-raising, grant writing, meetings of the Board of Directors, and other areas as needed. A core responsibility of this position is to present a character and attitude consistent with the mission statement of the NNMFHC.  Strong oral and written communication skills, broad familiarity with utilizing a variety of social media platforms, and demonstrated ability to develop innovative messaging are critical skills.  Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience preferred.
