The Northern Neck-Middlesex Health Clinic is partnering with the Virginia Department of Health Three Rivers Health District to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to clinic patients who are among the most vulnerable members of the community.

The vaccination program also is targeting first responders and others in Virginia’s 1A and 1B vaccine categories whose names have been provided by VDH, said Jean Nelson, the clinic’s chief executive officer.

The clinic used its initial supply of 100 vaccines in February, and after receiving additional vaccines has held several vaccination sessions during March.

Dr. Richard Williams, director of the Three Rivers Health District, is assisting with logistical concerns, vaccine deliveries and other protocols.

“We are delighted with the support we are receiving from Dr. Williams and his staff.  Vaccines are coming more consistently and we are honored to be able to provide them to those in need,” Nelson said.

Fifty volunteers worked in teams to assist in administration of the vaccine.   The clinic also is continuing to offer its regular medical, dental and pharmacy services while conducting the vaccination program.

“It is very gratifying to provide the vaccine to such a welcoming and appreciative group of recipients and work with a dedicated group of volunteers,” Nelson said.

She urged people register with the VDH as a first step in receiving the vaccine either online at vaccinate.virginia.gov. or by phone at 877-829-4682.  The clinic’s vaccine phone line is 804-436-5828.
