The Northern Neck-Middlesex Free Health Clinic Is expanding. We have openings for:
1. Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) - Full-time. Utilizes personal lived experience to support the recovery journey of persons seeking recovery from substance use. Connects participants with appropriate resources based on individual self-care plans. Must be in successful and ongoing recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges for at least one year, or have at least one year as a family member supporting a loved one with mental health and/or substance use challenges. Must complete DBHDS 72-hour Peer Recovery Specialist training. Accumulation of 500 hours of experience providing peer support services may be completed on the job. Completion of certification exam required. High school diploma/GED required. Must abide by PRS code of ethics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed. Prior experience desirable, certification preferred.
2. Medical Provider (Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Full-time preferred, part-time negotiable. Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants and Medical Director to deliver routine medical care to scheduled and walk-in patients. Identifies need for and makes appropriate referrals. Manages medications and assists patients in managing their health. Maintains accurate and timely records. Positive patient interaction skills and teamwork are essential. Current Virginia license required. Two years experience desirable. PPE provided.
